Charismatic Prayer Community
"As the chosen of God, then, the holy people whom he loves, you are to be clothed in heartfelt compassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other if one of you has a complaint against another. The Lord has forgiven you; now you must do the same. Over all these clothes, put on love, the perfect bond. And may the peace of Christ reign in your hearts, because it is for this that you were called together in one body. Always be thankful.
Let the Word of Christ, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach each other, and advise each other, in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts sing psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and whatever you say or do, let it be in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:12-17 NJB
The Prayer Meeting is Central to Charismatic Prayer Community
The Prayer Meeting is our gathering point; it is our campfire bringing us together to stoke the fires of the Holy Spirit; it is our greenhouse providing a warm, fertile environment for growth; it is our gym providing a place to strengthen ourselves; it is our port in the storm; it is our strength, our growth, our community; it is our experience of Jesus in the Body of Christ.
"Our communities must be genuine schools of prayer." Pope John Paul II
This short instructional discussion provides simple guidelines for those who would seek to initiate and build Charismatic Prayer Community. It is neither exhaustive nor detailed. Its intent is to serve as a catalyst and reminder of the basics of leadership in Charismatic Christian Community - with guidelines for the Core Team, the Prayer Meeting Leader, and the Prayer Meeting itself.
